Kersliggies Oppi-Plaas (🗺️)

  • 15 – 30 November 2024
  • Ticket prices are R80 for adults, R50 for children under 12, and R5 for children under 3.

Hosted on a farm just outside of Pretoria, this family-friendly festival shows that it’s never too early for holiday spirit. Attendees can expect large displays of Christmas lights, abstract installations, and meet-and-greets with Santa Claus. Live performances by various music artists and a small market with vendors are also available.

Lawley Street Christmas Lights Display (🗺️)

  • 1 – 31 December 2024
  • Free entry

Every year, the homes of Lawley Street in Waterkloof are dressed to the nines for Christmas. This display of lights attracts hundreds of people every night. Some drive down the street in their cars and others explore on foot.

Coffee carts and snack vendors often line the street in the evenings. Also, look out for the special displays by foreign embassies on Lawley Street.

Perhaps the most wondrous part of this event is that it is informally organised by residents, with no official board or event management. One might say that a community coming together this way is the epitome of the Christmas spirit.

Jacaranda Children’s Home LiggieFees/Light Festival (🗺️)

  • 29 November – 23 December 2024
  • Ticket prices are R50 for adults, R30 for pensioners and children under 12, and children under 3 enter free of charge.

The Jacaranda Children’s Home hosts an annual favourite Christmas lights display on their premises in East Lynne. The property hosts 20 homes that are decorated for the festivities alongside freestanding displays. The holiday spirit at this event is like no other.

Apart from beautiful displays, the festival provides additional entertainment like a big wheel, carousel, food and drink vendors, and live performances.

All profits generated by this event go towards serving and caring for the children who rely on Jacaranda Children’s Home for a loving place to stay.

Sun Time Square Festive Lights (🗺️)

  • 29 November 2024 – 02 January 2025
  • Free entry

The festive lights display at Time Square Arena promises photo ops, food, and all the festive vibes. The exhibit consists of thousands of lights, and it will be set up outside in the plaza for anyone to enjoy – perfect for summer.
