5 Coffee Shops to Visit in Pretoria East This Summer

There are almost too many coffee shops in Pretoria with good brew and fresh pastries. It’s a blessing, but makes it hard to choose! Below are five coffee shops that are each a must visit in Pretoria East this summer.

Hemels Café (🗺️)

Situated on a portion of a farm on Lynnwood Road, this self-service coffee shop provides a serene atmosphere in a busy part of town. Its minimalist theme lets the surrounding nature shine, which is why you’ll rarely find customers using their indoor seating.

The menu also keeps it simple with a variety of hot and cold drinks and a selection of baked goods to enjoy. On the same property, you’ll find padel courts, a gift shop, and a salon.

Café Divine (🗺️)

A break from the status quo in a city that mostly runs on daylight – this coffee shop is open until 22:00 every evening. It also serves the early birds from 06:00 daily.

Café Divine is a roadside coffee shop in Constantia Park that serves coffee, boba, ice cream, and a variety of baked desserts. Its modern design makes for a relaxed and contemporary experience.

The Rosemary Hill Coffee Shop (🗺️)

This spot offers a variety of drinks and meals, with ample space for children and pets outside. It is located on Rosemary Hill farm, which is home to cycling and hiking trails, segway tours, tastings, picnics, and child-oriented activities.

About a 15-minute car ride from Solomon Mahlangu Drive, Rosemary Hill is far enough from the city noise yet close enough to reel you in.

Bespoke Café (🗺️)

Another pet-friendly option located in Shere, this establishment serves breakfast, lunch, coffee, and baked goods.

The outside seating area is covered by a tree canopy, making it perfect for warm summer days in the shade. The kitchen serves gluten-free and vegetarian meals, and even has a section dedicated to four-legged friends!

Wild Route Café (🗺️)

On the patio of this café, you’ll find a sociable environment overlooking the far-east hills of Pretoria. It often hosts Sip and Paint as well as Kiddies Pizza and Paint events on its premises in Zwavelpoort.

The establishment sells locally-grown fresh produce and has a small plant nursery on the premises.
